A copy of this weekend’s results from the first two days of the 2016 Club Championships is now available online.
It was a good weekend of action, with many Championship records falling. The girls, in particular, saw a number of long-standing records go.
In the nine-year-old age group, three girls took away Championship records – Daniela Bringeman in the 400m Freestyle and 200m IM, Amelia Ridge in the 800m Freestyle and Lola Whitaker in the 400m Individual Medley. Katie Scott took the 12-year-old 100m Breaststroke record, while 14-year-olds Kieva Clegg and Harley shared the records for all the events competed in this age group – Kieva in the 400m and 800m Freestyle and 100m Breaststroke and Harley in the 200m and 400m IM.
Joseph Vickers was the lone record-breaker for the boys in the 11-year-old 1500m event.
A big thank you to all the parents who supported the running of the Championships through timekeeping, being officials, running the fundraising activities and for cheering on and supporting the swimmers at the Club. If you would like to find out more about becoming a timekeeper and to give it a go, please speak to a committee member.
We look forward to the second weekend of competition on the 2nd and 3rd July.
